Grow in Christ + Proclaim the Word + Serve Others

About Us

What Is Our Mission?

(GPS) St. Luke United Methodist Church is a community of faith that is GROWING in Christ, PROCLAIMING the Word and making disciples as we SERVE others.

What is Our Vision?

At St. Luke UMC we are growing in Christ by studying God's Word and it's meaning for us both as individuals and as a church in Columbia, TN.  With increasing understanding we reach beyond our doors and proclaim the Word to make disciples as Christ has commanded us.  We believe, as Scripture tells us, that "faith without works is dead."  Therefore, we go into the world to serve others.  As in Christ there are no boundaries, we seek to embrace people of all ages and stations.  We continually evaluate our path, reflecting on where we have been and noting where we need to go, looking for God's guidance and the Spirit's leading in each step.

Who Is Our Pastor?

Rev. Bo Myers joined our church family in 2016. He was born and raised in Vidalia, Louisiana and attended a small Catholic school in Natchez from Kindergarten through twelfth grade.  He then went on to attend Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism.

During his summer breaks from college, he worked at Mountain T.O.P. (Tennessee Outreach Project)  before moving to Ohio to go to Seminary at Methodist Theological School in Ohio (MTSO).  While on staff at MTOP he joined the United Methodist Church in Monteagle.

He is married to Mary Kate Myers.  She is the pastor at Wesley Chapel UMC in College Grove and Bethesda UMC in Thompson Station.

He is a  United Methodist because he loves the U.M. idea of grace.  He also has a deep respect and appreciation for the sacraments of the church, especially Holy Communion in which we experience the abundance of grace that God offers to all of God’s children.
