Grow in Christ + Proclaim the Word + Serve Others

Rev. Bo Myers was born and raised in Vidalia, Louisiana, a small town across the Mississippi River from Natchez, Mississippi.  He attended a small Catholic school in Natchez from Kindergarten through twelfth grade.  He attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism.

During his summer breaks from college, he worked at Mountain T.O.P. (Tennessee Outreach Project).  Pastor Bo served on Summer Staff for three summers, served as the spring/summer intern for half a year, and worked on full-time staff for a year and a half before moving to Ohio to go to Seminary at Methodist Theological School in Ohio (MTSO).  While on staff at MTOP, he joined the United Methodist Church in Monteagle.

He is married to Pastor Mary Kate Myers.  She grew up in McMinnville, Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  They met at MTOP and became quick friends.  After a couple of years of friendship, they began to date.  Pastors Bo and Mary Kate both heard a call into ordained ministry around the same time, and they started to discern their personal calls together, and then married in August 2012. She is the pastor at Wesley Chapel UMC in College Grove and Bethesda UMC in Thompson Station.

Pastors Bo and Mary Kate attended seminary in Ohio at MTSO.  They enjoyed their time at MTSO and the people they met at school and at the church they attended.  However, they did not enjoy the weather!  There is nothing fun about going to class in negative twenty degree weather.  Pastor Bo is excited to be in ministry at St. Luke Church.  He is a United Methodist because he loves the U.M. idea of grace.  He also has a deep respect and appreciation for the sacraments of the church, especially Holy Communion in which we experience the abundance of grace that God offers to all of God’s children.  He is enjoying his time in ministry together at St. Luke as we continue to Grow in Christ, Proclaim the Word of God, and Serve Others.
